MDM: A nice garden shop

I don’t know if it’s intentional or not, but urbanism seems to go hand in hand with locally grown food. It makes sense, your city should try to be self-sufficient for the most part. During harvestable months, your city is living off the surrounding farm land. Yeah this is a hippy dream, but it would be cool wouldn’t it? A connection to land and food is important to have a sense of place.

It’s obvious that land would be better served growing us food vs growing subdivisions.

Anyway, today’s Million Dollar Monday project comes from non-other than the dreamer/romantic Ben Lundsten.

MDM: Coughlan Pond at oldtown

It’s that time again where I get to dream big with no budget, no reality checks and no logistical impediments!

If you haven’t noticed, I’m obsessed with water. Ever since I was a little kid I would go and stare at streams, lakes, rivers, etc… I think that there’s something ingrained in humans about water. They want to be near it because they know it’s life blood. It’s also (in my opinion) has a calming and relaxing nature. People spend tons of money just to put a fake fountain or stream in their backyard just for the noise.
